"Please stop raining."
That was 3.50am.It never did stop even when we reached the peak at 630am. 8 am down from the peak? still raining.
Fancy wearing sandals, carrying an umbrella as mud take its liberty all over you. Nope, not fancy at all.
Drenched in mud and sweat, I turned the useless umbrella over my head into a life-saving walking stick. The drizzle or morning dew, I couldn't tell, felt so refreshing on my hair. Why didn't I do this earlier.
Reached the 1st peak. Overjoyed? More of a relief. I'm not sure why I felt happier during the last few steps before reaching the peak than when I actually reached the peak. There's a thrill in anticipation, in those last few moments before the finish line. Then it's done and over.over joyed and joy over. maybe not.
But reaching the peak sure made those senseless,pitch-black, slippery moments worth it. and the scenery. Things looks so different when you stand on higher ground. We were above a thick white mist like a fluffy snow blanket over everything below us. Blanket. I ought to be tightly snuggled under mine. (I'm glad I wasn't though, this was better.)
"There!!!"
I turned and looked.
Even the mist couldn't hide that orange hue. sunrise, Sunrise, SUNRISE behind the hills! Beautiful. and this time it was not just a beautiful thought of watching the sunrise, but a real experience. Breathes the fresh air around in deeply. See, feel, smell, touch and hear.
It was one sweaty, drizzling and muddy hike, with good company.
Hot shower. Ahh.
