Alias Grace

I remember watching Alias Grace with Davina at KLPAC last year. Sent chills down our spines as we concluded that she- Grace Marks had split-very-disturbing-personalities, which eventually made her not just a murderess, but The Murderess of the 19th Century.

But as I begin to read, and re-read the book, I think she's actually playing hide-and-seek with me. She is anything but insane even though she's living in a Asylum. If at all she's insane, I would say she's insanely intelligent, manipulative and seductive. Or so it seems...

Are you what you portray yourself to be? Is what you are on the inside in tandem with what you are on the outside?

Split personalities is not just a psychological problem (sometimes it undeniably is), but ultimately it's how people struggle for survival, for acceptance in a world that demands you to be anything but vulnerable. And more often than not, we are all vulnerable deep down.

CF committee sleepover was such a blessing, it's so rare where we could be so transparent with each other, our struggles, our weakness. Tears and brokenness that showed true strength to me, because His life and power was allowed to overflow through it.

When was the last time you were actually...Real?
